Praise Caballero as “Important voice for rural California”
MERCED – Three of rural California’s most prominent elected officials have endorsed Assemblymember Anna Caballero (D-Salinas) in her campaign for the open 12th District seat in the state Senate.
In separate statements Congressman Jim Costa (D-Fresno), State Senator Cathleen Galgiani (D-Stockton) and Assemblymember Adam Gray (D-Merced) commended Caballero for her positions on issues important to rural California.
Costa, who served in the Assembly and state Senate before his election to Congress, said, “I am pleased to endorse Anna Caballero for the California State Senate. She has been an important voice for us here in rural California, and I’m looking forward to working side-by-side with her on crucial issues such as water, agricultural security, and healthcare.”
“I look forward to working with Anna Caballero in the State Senate. We need strong voices in Sacramento that will fight for equality for all, including women and immigrants. We will work together to represent the Central Valley, and I am looking forward to getting more things done for our community,” Galgiani declared.
Calling Caballero someone who can be counted on to put rural California’s priorities first, Gray said, “She has been an ally in our fight to stop the state water grab and a champion to improve health care access in the Valley. In the Senate, she will be a great partner in the fight to ensure that rural communities get their fair share of state resources.”
In response to the endorsements, Caballero stated, “This kind of support is very important to our campaign. I have worked with all three legislators and look forward to continuing these effective partnerships in the future.”
